Application procedure

In order to apply for a student apartment, you have to be registered as a student in a post-comprehensive educational institution.

All undergraduate students can apply for student apartments.

Family apartments can be applied for by couples and families, if one of the partners is a student.

Different student housing organisations may have different application procedures. Find out about the details either on the web site.

You will find the application form in the website of the local student housing organization.

Notice to choose the correct student housing organization from the list on the right side. You can fill in the application form and submit it to the housing association in question.

Application period

Usually there is no specific application period, but you can apply for an apartment at any time of the year. If there are not enough apartments available, the applications are placed in a queue in the order that they were received. Some housing organisations, however, may have set some limitations to the application procedure in autumn.

In most student housing organisations there is a separate application system in summer for new students.

A general rule is that the sooner you submit your application the better chances you will have of getting a student apartment. Particularly in autumn there are more applicants than the student housing organisations can accommodate.

It is always worth submitting an application to a student housing association, even if you would be placed in a queue. The situation in the queue in constantly changing, and the student housing association will usually be able to accommodate you within reasonable time. You may not get the apartment that you placed first in your application form, but you may be pleasantly surprised by the apartment offered.
